Who is Your Valentine?

Happy Sabbath boys and girls. It's my opportunity once again to bring you the story. Today's a special day, right? Today is Valentine. I have a story here. It says it's Valentine's Day, just like it is today for us.

It says Valentine's Day. Valentine's Day is a holiday. We celebrated February 14th. It asks the question, what is another holiday that we celebrate in February? This holiday is about love. People show love to those they care about. People spend time with loved ones. Someone you love is called your Valentine. Hey, Grandma!

Valentine's are also greetings. People give Valentine's. Their notes say how people feel. What might you write on your Valentine? I make a box for my Valentine's. I will bring it to a party.

Valentine's Day colors are red, pink, and white. People wear red. They give red, pink, and white flowers. Hearts are symbols of love. They are symbols of Valentine's Day. People give candy too. Chocolates come in boxes shaped like hearts. What else could you give your Valentine?

Valentine's Day is a day to show love. Who will you give a Valentine's to? These are symbols.

So, the book talks about how we can sometimes give flowers, chocolates, or even teddy bears, right, to our Valentine. But this made me think, do you know who demonstrated the greatest act of love? Jesus. He came and gave his life for us so that one day we can live with him.

And this made me think, about a verse in 1 John 4:7, and it says, beloved, let us love one another for love comes from God and everyone whose loves has been born of God and knows God. So as this day we celebrate and we share love with others, let us not forget about the greatest love of all. That's the act that Jesus did to come and die for us so that one day we can spend eternity. We can be with him forever. Okay? I hope you are excited about spending eternity with him because I know I am.

Let's bow our heads, boys and girls. Dear Heavenly Father, we thank you, dear Lord, once again for another Sabbath. Thank you for making this Sabbath extra special, it being Valentine's Day. Allow us to always show love to everyone who surrounds us. Allow us to always be an example and try to teach others who Jesus is so that they too can be with us in heaven. Thank you once again dear Lord for all that we have for we pray in Jesus’ name. Amen.
